Just Another Car on the Road: Going Somewhere.

Hey family,
I’m out here today. Not for anything specific—no scheduled rides, no pressing appointments. But I still need to be out here. It’s about consistency, rhythm, staying connected to the day-to-day. So I’m just driving. Meandering, really. Window shopping from the driver’s seat. Exploring roads, imagining how one address connects to another. I’m not in a rush. No urgency. No pressure to dominate a lane. If someone needs to get by, go ahead—I’m not going anywhere fast. And that’s probably obvious to the folks sharing this road with me.

Now, contrast that with someone who is going somewhere. You can see it immediately. There’s a purpose in their pace. They’ve chosen their lane with intention. They move with a focused energy, a rhythm that tells you they’re locked in. Going somewhere.

Now, I’m not usually one for generalizations. I try not to cast people in fixed roles based on surface-level impressions. But out here—on the road—it’s fair. You can tell. And when I see someone who’s going somewhere, I know to yield. Better yet, if I want to be where they’re going, I need to ride their airstream. That’s the rule.

Isn’t that just like life?

You can sense it in people too. The ones drifting, still searching for purpose… and the ones on a mission. The difference is clear. You either get on board—or get out of their way. And when you see someone that dialed in, it makes you ask yourself:
How do I want to be seen? Remembered? Perceived?
As a meanderer? A drifter? Or someone going somewhere?

Well, family—I’ve got somewhere to be.
This is Ralph, and I’m just another car on the road.
