The GYG Story

When we started Grow Your Greatness (GYG), we faced a series of personal challenges that demanded solutions: how to earn enough to provide for our family today while securing their future tomorrow; how to carve out time to be present with our family, instilling values like community, integrity, resilience, and standards; and how to strike a balance that allowed us to give back to the community through meaningful service and support. These questions became the foundation of GYG—our mission, our vision, and our reason for striving every day.

With this new endeavor, the question of ‘How?’ was ever-present. The answer, like the question, was as persistent as the challenges: ‘Grow Your Greatness!’ But greatness is not obvious—it must be revealed. Every step forward brought another question, another challenge, and another opportunity to uncover the greatness that already exists within us.

To start, we had to focus on purpose. As mentioned, my wife and I needed to provide for our children, teach them values, and support our community. Initially, we pursued this by working in corporate America. My wife excelled as a property manager, while I worked in Human Resources. Yet, over time, we realized that true greatness couldn’t fully flourish within the confines of traditional careers. We knew we had to forge a new path—one that aligned with our vision and allowed us to make a meaningful impact.

Through our experience, we saw firsthand the challenges facing everyday families. Housing costs continued to rise, quality transportation was increasingly sacrificed for profit, and social media became a space fostering trends and likes rather than personal thought or meaningful connections. These realities, coupled with the rising cost of living and a shrinking job market, strengthened our resolve to create meaningful solutions—a platform that not only supported our family but also addressed broader societal challenges. This realization became the cornerstone of Grow Your Greatness.
